Helford River Oysters Ltd.

The Helford River in Cornwall, is one of the finest rivers for the growing and fattening of native oysters. Traditionally oysters in the Helford were fished from the Fal Estuary nearby, and the oysters laid into the Helford to fatten and to grow.

The Duchy of Cornwall are hoping to lease the shellfish rights on the river, with the aim to repopulate the river with young oysters, so that a large population can again be built up, so that if there is a warm summer, they may spawn and repopulate the river once again.
